About the Company
WeKare is a US-based consumer app that converts voice recordings into structured tasks and to-do lists, then nudges users to follow through on what matters. The product is built around a simple premise: most life admin gets lost between conversations, calendars, and messaging apps. WeKare lets users capture life as it happens by voice, and turns it into something they can act on.
WeKare engaged Tequity for an end-to-end product partnership - from discovery and scope definition through to the App Store and Play Store launch.
The Challenge
A consumer voice-first product has a narrow window to feel magical, and a long tail of execution complexity behind it:
- Discovery without bias: The team had a strong vision but needed structured discovery and competitor research to lock in the right MVP scope.
- Information architecture for voice-driven flows: Voice input is fundamentally different from tap-driven flows - the IA had to support fluid capture and structured output side by side.
- Cross-platform shipping: The app had to ship simultaneously to iOS and Android, including App Store and Play Store review approval.
- Subscription and payment: Stripe, Apple In-App Purchase via RevenueCat, and a tiered plan model all had to be in place to monetize.
- Apple's review bar: Initial App Store rejection meant the team had to navigate AI-related disclosure requirements carefully.
Solution Implemented by Tequity
Tequity ran the full product development cycle for WeKare with a dedicated cross-functional team.
Discovery and Scope:
- Kickoff workshops with the WeKare team to align on goals and user needs.
- Competitor research and definition of MVP scope.
- Refined information architecture and finalized the four core modules: Record, Ask, Act, Share.
Design:
- Wireframes and UX for all core modules, moved into UI as flows closed.
- Continuous review sessions to gather feedback and stay aligned with development.
Engineering and Delivery:
- End-to-end build of the Record, Share, Action, and Onboarding features.
- Ask feature and Profile feature completion.
- App submitted to the App Store and Play Store and approved on both platforms.
Monetization:
- Stripe integration on Android.
- Apple In-App Purchase integration via RevenueCat.
- Tiered plan-gating logic with subscription API.
- Implementation of an unlimited-access tier (
isUnlimitedUserflag) bypassing standard restrictions.
Compliance and Re-Submission:
- Implemented AI consent modals before any paid AI-powered service is used.
- Adjusted Gender and DOB to be non-mandatory at API and frontend.
- Resubmitted and cleared Apple review.
WeKare today is a live consumer app with a working subscription model and a clean cross-platform footprint.
Process and Approach
The WeKare engagement is a strong example of Tequity's startup-stage product partnership: a focused team that owns the path from a founder's idea to a live, monetizing app on both major mobile stores - including the messy parts (App Store rejections, payment infra, AI disclosure) that derail many teams.
